The Municipal Court Career Internship Program introduces Georgia college seniors to careers in municipal court administration. Participants gain practical experience in public service while learning how municipal courts support access to justice and serve their communities.
Selected students are placed with a Georgia municipal court, where their assignments are tailored to the needs, initiatives, and priorities of the host court.

Eligibility Requirements
To participate in MCCIP, a student must:
- Be a college senior enrolled at a Georgia college or university when the internship begins.
- Not have graduated before the internship or applicable academic term begins.
- Be majoring in Political Science, Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or Criminal Justice.
- Receive academic credit for the internship from the participating college or university.
- Be available during the operating hours established by the host court. Hours are generally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but may vary by court.
How the Program Works
MCCIP applicants complete an application and participate in an interview before an internship placement is made.

Eligible applicants participate in an interview with a designated municipal court clerk’s office.

Receive a Placement
Selected applicants receive an internship placement with a participating Georgia municipal court.
